Some (esp Mr Burster) know my secret addiction…
Yes, I love the making and marketing of politics. It’s such a dirty business, it’s tricky, it’s nasty but that’s exactly what I like about it. No bullshitting around, not some fidgety niche markets, not some over-styled wannabe hipsters, but just good old boys who still live the dream about owning the world.

So today was a great day for for all us who love the marketing of politics. Thanks to the Daily News we all can get a closer look at some details at Rudy Giuliani’s campaign. Unfortunately they didn’t publish the 140 page document, which they pretend to have, (in fact this would be something for the smokinggun) but at least they published some names and numbers.
Just thought it is quite interesting to take a closer look at the persons involved in this :
The candidate’s central problems:
- his private sector business
- disgraced former aide Bernard Kerik
- his third wife, Judith Nathan Giuliani
- “social issues,” on which is he is more liberal than most Republicans
- his former wife Donna Hanover.
He hired as one of his fundraisers Cathy Blaney, who also was a part of the Pataki fundraising team. You can find her and more detailed informations on his 2002 campaign in an excellent document published by the Columbia University. (Which is a part of the The Power Of Money Report)
So here is my idea … GOP will support John McCain (like in all the other elections before, but knowing his lack of charisma) to a certain point and let him hustle around the country, Giuliani will stay away from the general public for some additional time (to avoid the Hillary effect and keep some tention or momentum however you wanna call it). But the big questions is who will become his running mate?
John McCain (to thank him for all what he did as a Dick Cheney like figure)
Jeeb Bush (to prepair him for his own Presidency, maybe keeping Giuliani only for one legacy because of his age AND he would make Florida a solid GOP state AND would have the Bush Network AND would relate to the conservative democraphics)
maybe also someone like Ken Mehlman (who will step down as the Republican National Committee Chairman this month) could hide behind the curtain…
Stumble it!
